Announcement: 10-11th grade tryouts will be held Wednesnight night at Bill McDonald complex. The location is by Bethel Road, and will be held on Court 1 and Court 2. U16 and U17 AAU Boys Elite Team Tryouts!

COBA AAU Teams Advance

All of the COBA AAU teams will advance from pool play today in the Delaware County Classic. Congrats Knights!

On another note. I will preface this by saying none of the Parents/spectators I’m speaking of are from this organization! I’ve noticed an increasing amount of fans approaching officials after games in what you could say was an extremely aggressive fashion. Some appear to be on the verge of violence saying things that don’t belong in youth sports. If this pattern continues, we program administrators, tournament directors should consider following suit with the OHSAA and schools and hire security personnel to assure the safety of everyone concerned. Then we need to see that the officials have a safe locker room, space or office to go to between games and at halftime. At this years C.O.B.A. Championship we hired security to patrol the parking lot at USA Sports and be available if needed for safety reasons. I see a growing number of angry fans going to the extreme side of unsportsmanlike behavior to a point of not being safe for everyone involved.

Columbus Eddie Guice

Columbus has lost one of it’s most valuable Community Treasures. Eddie Guice passed away yesterday and will be dearly missed from the youth basketball scene. I didn’t know Eddie very well, but what I do know was he loved coaching basketball and helping the youth of Central Ohio. His big smile and positive influence on the court will be missed. Take a moment and be thankful we had an Eddie Guice to make the world a better place for future athletes and the youth of Central Ohio.

Coaches,
3rd Grade Boys will follow the same rules as 4th Grade Girls, pressing allowed in the last two minutes of the game only! No Zone, trapping, double teaming allowed.

Coaches and Parents,
The Tournament is quickly approaching! Here are answers to the most asked questions?
Due to the size of the tournament and in an attempt to keep the number of games in one day reasonable, plan on playing both weekends.
Tournament Schedule will post on the Site Sunday night February 5th. Expect some corrections and check the site frequently during the week.
I’m currently working on the Division breakdown/changes. Some Teams will be moved.
In the meantime, have a great finish to your Season!
