Columbus Eddie Guice

Columbus has lost one of it’s most valuable Community Treasures. Eddie Guice passed away yesterday and will be dearly missed from the youth basketball scene. I didn’t know Eddie very well, but what I do know was he loved coaching basketball and helping the youth of Central Ohio. His big smile and positive influence on the court will be missed. Take a moment and be thankful we had an Eddie Guice to make the world a better place for future athletes and the youth of Central Ohio.

Coaches,
3rd Grade Boys will follow the same rules as 4th Grade Girls, pressing allowed in the last two minutes of the game only! No Zone, trapping, double teaming allowed.

Coaches and Parents,
The Tournament is quickly approaching! Here are answers to the most asked questions?
Due to the size of the tournament and in an attempt to keep the number of games in one day reasonable, plan on playing both weekends.
Tournament Schedule will post on the Site Sunday night February 5th. Expect some corrections and check the site frequently during the week.
I’m currently working on the Division breakdown/changes. Some Teams will be moved.
In the meantime, have a great finish to your Season!

There has been a lot of questions regarding the 4th grade rules. Please read the rules posted and if you have any questions afterward send an email and I’ll get back with you quickly. Below is directly from the rule sheet:
4th Grade- free throw line is reduced to 12 feet. Man to Man defense only,
No Zone defense of any kind! Full court defense allowed in the last 2
minutes of the Game (Boys may press after January 12th! No Zone or
Trapping).

COBA Holiday Tournament

Congratulations to all of the Teams who competed in the Tournament! It was definitely fruitful from a Coaches point of view. My Team was 0-5, but got some great court time and experience by participating versus some very well coached Teams.
Lot’s of great games last night and congrats to all of the Division finalists and winners for getting there.
I’ll post pics and updated brackets in the next day or so!
